TGO Challenge 2015: Getting to the start

I met Sandy Miller at Dundee Railway Station. We boarded the Glasgow Queen Street bound train, although Sandy was changing at Perth. On the train I met Graeme and Marion Dunsire and Emma Warbrick.

At Glasgow, the station was full of TGOers, and it did remind me of a Harry Potter film with the wizards waiting for the Hogwart’s Express. On the train, even more so, as the majority of passengers seemed to be students of the TGO Challenge – the train even stopped on the Glenfinnan Viaduct (the one that features in the Harry Potter films), so that folk could take photographs looking down the Loch!

It’s a long train journey, but very scenic. At Mallaig I booked into the Mission Bunkhouse. Very cheap, but clean, friendly and adequate, apart from the too small curtains, inadequate against the flashing orange of the pedestrian crossing outside!
