TGO Challenge 2015: Day 11 – Back to Balmoral

I chatted to Anthony and Jacqueline Ford at breakfast. They were taking on Jock’s Road. I was heading to Ballater, via the Lion’s face then Balmoral. The Lion’s face walk is pretty good, but the rain started before I reached the road. I met Frank Row and Anthony Cathcart just as we left the road, and Bernard Forrester and Joanna Bisdee a bit further on. I had a bite to eat at Balmoral Tearoom.

The road from here to Ballater is almost all road walking after cutting though the golf course, but the road is very quiet. Although the walk to Balmoral seemed very easy, after a few km along the road, my feet were feeling a bit sore, and my left foot seems to have some muscle ache. In the rain, it was a rather uninspiring walk into Ballater, and to the Alexandra Hotel. The bar was full of Challengers, but after some food, I went back to my room to catch up on emails etc and try and sort out my feet.
